Worst case I might end up re-installing Windows + Expression Web to see if that fixes its issues. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Is there a "spiritual successor" to the software? Anybody know a simple, basic HTML editor without a lot of fancy options that I can give him to use? I tried to set him up on an old version of Dreamweaver and it was too complicated - Keep in mind he's 85 and not really interested in learning much about software so it'll have to be kinda close to what he's used to. I have uninstalled/reinstalled it to no avail, and the best course of action I can think of at this point is to replace Expression Web. It's freezing up a lot, not loading some pages, etc. He likes the freedom of a full editor and for some reason doesn't trust anything that doesn't have FTP.Īnyhow, Expression Web has been discontinued by Microsoft and is now acting up on his computer (Windows 10). Since then, I had him try both Wordpress and Blogger and he just wasn't into them. Years ago, I managed to get him off Microsoft Frontpage and on to Microsoft Expression Web, when that was a thing. He publishes a daily newsletter on his website, and uses very basic HTML/images/tables. I'm trying to help out my 85 year old friend. /r/programmerhumor - (post your memes here instead)./r/freelance (discussion related to freelancing)./r/learnjavascript (any JavaScript questions).

Thanks for that - it's perfect!! Even though I now know what to do (and what to search for) I still can't find the info on the MS web site but then I'd guess that's why this site is here :-)
